Prior to going to Chobe, I had already done a number of safaris in various places on the African continent. I wasn’t expecting anything vastly different.
But Chobe was incredibly different.
By the time we had arrived at Chobe, we were about a week in to our trip. While the trip had been awesome in every possible way, Q was getting a little bit tired of the long game drives and bumpy rides.
I, on the other hand, would be able to do this every day for the rest of my life. I have the greatest love for safari animals of all kinds– particularly the African Elephant.
At Chobe, the main draw is its incredible river– which spans over both Botswana and Namibia. After a long drive from Hwange, we pulled up to our hotel on the Chobe River– and immediately headed out on a boat for a game drive on the water.
This was amazing, because it included two of my all-time favorite things: boating, and game driving.
WE SAW ELEPHANTS SWIMMING!
All of the animals come down from the plains, and congregate on theĀ riverbanks. I had never seen anything like it.
I love love love love love love the African elephant.
It was the most incredible day ever.
