Next stop: Hwange National Park.
Hwange is about three hours southeast of Vic Falls, and we stayed here. Place was awesome!
The elevated huts were fantastic.
Sinks. The bathroom also included a claw-footed tub!
The photo above shows the view from our balcony. There was a watering hole about 100 feet away from our hut– where wild elephants would visit to drink water. We didn’t see any during the daytime, but at night we heard them. It was like listening to giant straws gulping water… amazing.
We sat around the fire in the evenings.
The road from the hotel to the park was very quiet. Above, a family of warthogs crossing the road.
The number of wild elephants was absolutely amazing. They’d hang out right at the side of the road!
Many of the days were pretty rainy and damp– which we weren’t prepared for. That made for chilly sunrise and sunset game drives.
Some of Hwange’s elephants.
Hello!
